I feel that you need to be tested over many materials instead of just one. If the material you read is a newspaper or a magazine, your words per minute is going to be alot faster than if you read a novel and have to really think about what your reading. A magazine or newspaper is just reading for fun. Also if you want to read something, its going to make your WPM higher than if you dont want to read something. WPM should be tested on all sorts of materials.
