I think that your reading rate should depend on how you want to read. If I need to write a paper on something, I am going to read it slower than I will if I am reading for enjoyment. Some people have a slower reading rate and thats fine. It all depends on how you want to read it whether it is for study, enjoymeny, or just to catch a few ideas. That all determines the different rate that you are going to read.
